fight terror

DEBKAfile notes: Hillary Clinton and Condoleezza Rice, two of the
most influential women in American politics, are both in Israel
Sunday, Nov. 13, but are not scheduled to meet.

While touring the Jerusalem section of the fence at Gilo, Hillary
Clinton said: “This is not against the Palestinian people. This is
against terrorists. The Palestinian people have to help prevent
terror. They have to change their attitudes about terrorism, starting
with the Palestinian Authority and going through Palestinian society.”

Her comments endorsed Israel’s position on the defensive nature of
the barrier.

The Clintons and Rice will attend the state ceremonies marking the
10th anniversary of the assassination of prime minister Yitzhak Rabin
at Mt. Herzl, Jerusalem, Monday, Nov. 14.

Clinton, in Israel for three days with president Bill Clinton and
their daughter Chelsea, also met prime minister Ariel Sharon, foreign
minister Silvan Shalom and defense minister Shaul Mofaz. She is not
slated to visit the Palestinian areas.

Sunday night the Clintons flew to Jordan to meet and condole with
King Abdullah and visit one of the three hotels attacked by al Qaeda.
Rice will visit Amman later Monday. Asked whether she plans to run
for president in three years, Hillary replied smiling: “I’ve already
been in the White House.”

And I’ll bet you’d love to be there again, except this time in the position of not just wielding your power, but actually being able to brag that you have it.
I hope she doesn’t think she’ll win the favor of most of the liberals with her statement about the Israeli barrier.
In case she hasn’t realized, most of them are against it.
