67% done with The Hunger Games. This series won’t go on the reread pile or anything, but it’ll help with challenge completion.
Irony is not dead. There are people who regularly shout about other people needing to get over themselves at the internet after reading a thinkpiece somewhere and becoming outraged enough to shout in the first place.
My phone needs a charge and so do I. In the form of lunch.
When I was your age we wrote our HTML in a no-frills text editor with a tag reference open in a browser window and we liked it. Get off my lawn with your syntax highlighting.
First beer cracked. Let the games begin!
God my old iPhone 5S is so damn tiny compared to my 7+. Using it to listen to music right now since on top of the earpods the lightning dongle I used to connect the other headphones died as of this morning. Will replace both when I get the time later this week.
What the hell? My earpods just shorted out. Right ear and mic gone. I guess I can’t complain too much since they’ve lasted for two years under very heavy usage, but damn. Just damn.
Dear everyone: If you use S3 as cloud storage you’ll need to switch, b/c the inaccessible Amazon captcha is now required for login. If everyone praising the Echo as great for blind ppl could help spread awareness on this that would be great b/c this is a really big deal.
Two more work-related tasks to complete for today, and then it’s beer:30.
I’m in Slack for the WordPress accessibility bug scrub, and iOS dictation mistook “forms mode” for “flames mode.” I am way more amused by this than I probably have a right to be.
I’m about halfway through the last book in the Singularity series and I have to pause to give my phone some charge so I can finish this. Definite reread.
The only posh I care about is plain old semantic HTML.
God damn it media if you’re going to write or talk about tech and it’s not your normal beat could you please for the love of God learn to fucking google that shit before you open your mouths? That includes everyone from fucking Ben Shapiro to CNN. Jesus!
You know it’s science fiction when Windows 2000 saves everybody’s ass.
I could log into Goodreads and add all the books I’ve been reading. Maybe even make my book challenge stats look cool. But it’s so much more fun to write random posts about the books I’m reading on my own site, where I own the content, and syndicate appropriately.
Since I have to manually copy my posts over to Facebook, I’m going to just start including hand-created invites for everyone to join micro.blog, along with the link to my original post.
This book has an email server that’s killing people and I am here for every bit of this.
I keep seeing tweets where people thank FBAccess for fixing the Messenger accessibility bug, followed by an ask that accessibility bugs never get introduced again. You guys do realize you’re asking for the impossible and that zero bugs ever is not how any of this works, right?
Brahts, curly seasoned fries, beer and a side of code for dinner. #DevLife
Kill Process was an extremely satisfying read and it’s definitely going on the will reread pile. I’m going to go work on the indiewebification of my websites now. Open and decentralized social networking is going to win. #indieweb
